I worked with Baker & Hill in creating spot illustrations and two animated videos about the history of the Statue of Liberty. The overall project that this was a small part of didn’t end up happening, but we were happy with the results nonetheless. The main part of the project is a collection of facts and events that is formatted into an interactive timeline. As you move down the timeline the camera moves around the 3d rendering of Lady Liberty and stops at different points of interest.
2 of those points of interest were to be animated shorts about certain aspects of the Statue’s history: one about french sculptor Frederic Bartholdi’s sources of inspiration for the statue and another about Emma Lazarus’ famous poem “The New Colossus” which now lives on a plaque on the statue’s pedestal. I created the illustrations for each scene and they were beautifully animated by Baker & Hill.

It’s not often that you get to work with such amazing people on a project that means so much. It’s an experience that I’ll never forget.
